Digipak analysis

The Lana Del Ray digipak has the lyrics of each of her songs, which allows audiences who enjoy reading to know what the songs are about better. The digipak doesn't talk about her self, audiences wouldn't know anything about the artist. The album cover is the artist, her name printed on top and the name of the album. Her body language shows that shes all about nature and reality, as there is trees and sheds in the background. In the digipak cover Lana Del Ray has Hollywood curls tucked behind her shoulders to emphasing chest area, she also wore red lipstick which screams out sex appeal and wore a buttoned up white shirt to signify a vintage style and to show purity connotations. The light colours and contrast connote innocence and nature. The focal point is positioned in the centre (mid-shot) of the cover this shows that she is trying to stand out out to be able to create and or build a relationship with the demographic. Her she has a blank facial expression which signifies that she could be unhappy about how hard life is as she is surrounded by nature. The red roses of the CD symbolises mixed emotions such as love, passion, respect and danger which could be a message she trying to get across that everybody should love and respect each other. The white coloured background sybolises purity, innocence, virginity and goodness, humility, faith and spirituality as these all surround nature. The genre and narrative is that the artist is Hollywood sad core type of music, along with that she has a vintage fashion sense which suits her retro style of music as well as her lyrics and sound. The digipak is about the American past, her songs go back to the old days of America. Her target is quite difficult to point out as she has a sophisticated vintage style. Her sound and style could attract older and mature demographic and for her fashionable style could attract a younger demographic. This shows that people could enjoy listening to her music and like the artist for different reasons.

The Chemical romance digipak comes in four where on the bottom left it briefly says what the songs are about and has pictures of five men who are a band, I know this because there is another picture on the top right hand side where they are all together. The band images are shown so it could have an impact on the audience as they could be inspired by the bands fashion sense. Also, the digipak  is targeted at a niche audience as the hybrid genre could be Christian Rock as there are christian symbols (Cross). Along with the front cover on the bottom right there is two character drawn quite professionally, the cover could have been drawn because both character could have a fake relationship, I know this because  the mid-shot shows what sort of relationship they both have as well whether the image was drawn or a taken picture. The CD symoblises religion as there is a red cross, the colour red could signify Christians who believe that blood of Jesus Christ who died on the cross for us. The white background symbolises purity and innocence. This shows that the songs of the are about having a relationship to God within a couple. The colour black is used a lot within the bands and characters costume and the background, the colour symbolises fear,, aggressiveness and powerful and the art image could signify  that members of the band artistic. Furthermore, the colour black enables other colours such as red to stand out. The spine of the digipak has the name of the album and the bands name.

Britney Spears digipak uses the colour black and has a picture of her where she is quite simple where she is wearing black which keeps in theme
of the digipak and the contrast shows that she  has good and bad within her personality. Not that she is only wearing black and white but her digipak also uses the colour black and white to connote bad and good. Britney wearing a black dress conforms with the fashionable mainstream, she positions herself sexually as she's bent down touching her legs. The use of a gold background signifies that she has quality within her work, she is valuable and elegant which, could attract the target audience to be inspired. Also, there is less pictures and so there is no repetition, similar styles and to not make it unattractive. On the right and left of the digipak has her gold initials which again makes the theme simple and having the idea of the digiak being high quality. This therefore give the digipak a professtional feel and creates more interest to what it holds. Furthermore, there are two other colours that are used which are white and gold which then again keep in with the theme. Britney does not expose her identity to the camera by using her bright blonde hair to slightly cover her face, with the use of direct address to draw in audiences attention. however with the use of the focal point's body language and facial expression subverts the colour white  as it symbolises virginity, purity and innocence, Britney gives a dominance and confidence feel. This confidence is seen through POP music and it gives idealism of a happy and conent attitude which the convention for a POP genre.Other aspects is her lost of her songs where she positioned and the background image is a window shows that she is hidding her identity from someone but also wants to escape from where she is. This list of songs gives audience extra information so that they can feel engaged more, the target audience is women as she has a classic fashion sense.
